Staying at Periyar House was a unique experience right in the heart of the wildlife reserve. The settings were rustic and beautiful, offering a real escape from modern life, though I did miss some of my usual comforts. The food was surprisingly tasty and plentiful, but the basic accommodation and limited activities in the evening made it a bit challenging after dark.

My stay at Periyar House was a unique adventure, immersed in nature. The rustic setting was refreshing, but the lack of creature comforts was quite noticeable after a while. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, making the experience enjoyable despite some shortcomings.

Being deep inside the national park offered great views and a unique chance to connect with nature. However, access was tricky, and I often felt restricted due to the curfew after dark.

All meals were home-cooked by Mary and they were quite tasty, with portions that were more than enough. Though the dining options were limited, the flavors exceeded my expectations.
Facilities

The facilities were basic, lacking recreational activities and Wi-Fi that would permit streaming. The hotel is more about disconnecting in nature than enjoying luxurious amenities.

My stay at Periyar House was an intriguing escape into the depths of nature, although it came with a few challenges. The location within the tiger reserve provided an unparalleled experience with sounds of wildlife surrounding me. However, the basic accommodations and lack of modern comforts didn’t entirely meet my expectations for a two-night stay.

My stay at Periyar House was quite the adventure, nestled deep within the national park and far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The scenery was beautiful and it offered a real connection with nature, though the lack of creature comforts was noticeable for me. The meals were hearty and satisfying, but I found the dining options somewhat limited. Overall, it was an interesting experience that provided a great chance for a digital detox, even if two nights felt a bit too much without the usual amenities.

Rooms

Staying at Periyar House was quite the adventure! It's nestled deep in the national park, offering a unique chance to immerse myself in nature, though getting there involved a bumpy 90-minute jeep ride. The accommodation was basic, which I expected, and while I loved the peaceful surroundings and the delicious, home-cooked meals, the lack of creature comforts like Wi-Fi and air conditioning was definitely noticeable. Overall, it was a nice experience, but I realized I enjoy a bit more comfort in my stays.
